Synopsis/Cast/Company

Information for The Maternal Instinct at General, Brighton (Play). The play is about a recently married couple, Sarah and Lilian. Sarah is a teacher of autistic children, and Lilian is a geneticist working at the nearby university. Lilian's work and home life collide when Sarah suggests that they have a baby - at the same time as she is attempting to isolate the cause of the maternal instinct in her lab. As a recovering alcoholic, Lilian is unsure of her own suitability for parenthood, but her sister takes Sarah's side, and a stream of events ensues to find the perfect donor to father the child and make Lilian change her mind. UK Premiere Brighton Fringe Festival. This event takes place at The Dukebox Theatre, 3 Waterloo Street, Hove, BN3 3BB
