Information for Ubu at The Opera House, Buxton (Play). With the help of scheming ma Ubu and Captain Dogpile and his Barnpot Army lazy good-for-nothing Pa Ubu murders Good King Wenceslas and seizes the throne of Baloney. What trouble lies in store for the poor native Balonians? Alfred Jarry's absurd masterpiece of nonsense, part literary parody, part playground joke, has continued to amaze and enthrall audiences with its hilarious mix of slapstick, toilet humour and philosophical musings since it first sparked riots in 1896.
