Information for John Cooper Clarke at Harrogate Theatre, Harrogate (Poetry). John Cooper Clarke, the name behind the hairstyle, stormed into popular consciousness in the early 80s with a volatile cocktail of rock and poetry informed by the punk aesthetic. Now the rock 'n' roll poet is back with his high energy, fast talking poetry to pin back and pierce the thickest of ears. The Bard of Salford. The unique rapid fire delivery of his poems alongside razor sharp gags and tales of the absurd or just hilarious, have created a live career lasting over 30 years.

USER (30Sep11): John Cooper Clarke walked on to the stage and took control of the crowd - for 1 hour and 40 minutes, the place was ecstatic for his mix of poetry and humour. The only spoiler was 1 hour of local poets as warm-up. Neither wanted not needed the audience endured them but didn't respond.
