Information for Metamorphosis at Barons Court Theatre, Inner London (Play). Gregor Samsa is a travelling salesman until, that is, the day he wakes up as a gigantic insect. So begins Berkoff's exploration of Kafka's surreal tale. In a world where money and work are God, this play reminds us the human spirit should not be taken for granted. Set in a Yoruba village, young Abeni wakes up to find she has changed into a locust... The story is based on Franz Kafka's classic. But this is a production full of twists , turns , magic and a message for us all.
