Contemporary Dance Performance...and a chance to step into the unknown.
Still in the City explores the relationship between people and the city in a world where we live disparate, disconnected lives. An improvised piece with an open score and an invitation for the audience to become a part. As connections are built, broken and re-made there is a chance to step into the unknown. Curated by Ensemble Dance Company founder Hayley Matthews, the piece is touring cities in the UK and beyond this year and in each location Hayley works with performers living in the city where the performance is taking place, making the work 'home grown' in each location. Grown out of Hayley's work as a dancer, dance maker, curator and training Rolfer and her interests in how we are built both as dancers and human beings in a context, how we integrate our patterns and surroundings and what we do when we perform as dancers or provide structure as dance makers.
