Has been called Her Majesty's and His Majesty's as appropriate over the years. Originally opened 9 Apr 1705. Was the first English opera house. Burned down, 1789, re-opened 1791. Burned down 1867, re-opened in 1869. Demolished 1890. New theatre opened 1897. [RADA] originally started here. 1229 seats. Society of London Theatre member.
