The Butch Monologues

The Butch MonologuesT628961131
Following a sell-out performance at WOW 2014, The Butch Monologues returns with a brand new collection of stories and performers to re-position the negative and socially threatening concept of fe male masculinity to a place of pride. Based on interviews with butch-identified women living in the UK, Europe, USA, Caribbean and beyond, the piece offers fresh language and intonation on butch beginnings, butch desire and desirability, butch bravado and vulnerability, butch on femme sex, butch on butch sex, switches, stones, butch as a trap, the butch body, violence, heroes and clothing. Written by Hotpencil Press's Laura Bridgeman and directed by Vital Xposure's Julie Mcnamara, readings will feature the Drakes, the UK's first private members group dedicated to butch solidarity and female masculinity.
