Matthias Sperling with Macus Coates
For the first two events, artist Gillie Kleiman and choreographer and performer Matthias Sperling each curate one talk with an artist they admire. Choreographer Matthias Sperling invites visual artist Marcus Coates to have a conversation exploring Sperling's curiosity about Coates' practice and the areas where their interests overlap. Among other points of contact, they will discuss Coates' recent book 'UR... A Practical Guide To Unconscious Reasoning' and how it connects with Sperling's interest in including the intelligent unconscious of the body in his approach to choreographic practice.
