About the Show/Event

King Lear
Information for King Lear at Theatro Technis, Inner London (Play). King Lear divides his Kingdom between his daughters according to a declaration of their love for him. His eldest Goneril and Regan exaggerate their affection and inherit. His youngest daughter Cordelia speaks only the truth and is banished. So begins the tragedy of King Lear, whose dignity, sanity and finally life are torn from him by a self-seeking younger generation, ambitious for his power. What is love, what is madness, what is truth - Shakespeare explores these questions together with many others in King Lear, widely considered to be his greatest tragedy. Under the visionary direction of Victor Sobchak this play, dealing with the breakup of kingdoms and conflict between generations, promises to be an extraordinary delight. Specially adapted for Theatro Technis, and using a multi-talented cast putting young and up and coming talent together with experienced actors, delivers version of Lear for our times.
Performers Christopher Diacopoulos (King Lear), Dima Sol (Fool), Timothy Weston (Edmond), Thomas Lodge (Edgar), David Gurney (Cornwall), Patrick Whitelaw (Gloucester), Rob Anthony (Kent), Gerry Skeens (Regan), Julia Papp (Regan), Gin Mar (Cordelia).
