Originally the St James's Picture House opened in 1923 on the site of an old chapel. In 1931 it was transformed into a theatre. Refurbished in 1986. 1527 seats. Aug97: The Theatre was gutted by fire in 2002. In 2003 the theatre is to be demolished. Now demolished
