Information for Carol Ann Duffy: The Princess' Blankets and The Gift at Royal Exchange, Manchester (Kids show). The official closing event of the 2012 Manchester Children's Book Festival. Join us for the official closing event of the 2012 Manchester Children's Book Festival - a full-length musical show, based on Carol Ann's haunting children's stories THE PRINCESS' BLANKETS and, new for 2012, THE GIFT. Enter a magical, musical wonderland created by Manchester's much-loved Poet Laureate and her ever-energetic musician, the wonderful John Sampson. After the event, Carol Ann will be signing copies of her books and audience members will have a chance to meet John and see his amazing instruments from the Far East and the Middle Ages, up close.
