Heartbeat archiveFor the first time ever, ITV's popular Sunday evening 60s police drama, Heartbeat, comes to the stage starring members of the TV cast. Heartbeat ran for 18 years from 1992 to 2010 with audiences regularly exceeding 10 million viewers and was constantly in the top five TV programmes across all the channels. Now it comes to the stage in this touring production which, with use of video footage and a clever set, recreates the atmosphere of the 1960s rural Yorkshire settings. Come and see David Stockwell, Gina Ward, PC Geoff Younger and a number of the other most popular characters in a two-hour live stage production with a brand-new script. Take yourself back to the 60s, with all the great music of the TV series, in this excellent production. More names from the TV cast to be added soon.

User Review: 05Jul16: Superb fun! I'll admit I had no idea what to expect from a stage production of this much-loved TV show, but I wasn't let down. They did a fantastic job of adapting it for stage - the original cast members were brilliant! They added a delightful spark of humour mixing nicely with the main dramatic storyline. Anyone who says they left at the interval clearly have no taste! The whole audience thoroughly enjoyed it where I watched it - Buxton Opera House. If you loved the TV series you'll love this! Do not hesitate; it provides a pleasant transition into 1970's Heartbeat, answering some questions left open at the end of the series too!

User Review: 27Jun16: As a big fan of the TV show we were extremely disappointed at this stage version and in fact left at the interval as it was so bad! The acting and script is so cringeworthy it makes amateur shows look good. As a keen theatre-goer I have never walked out on a show, but this was a struggle to even last to the interval! Do yourelf a favour and give this show a VERYwide berth - DREADFUL!!!!

User Review: 29May16: Went with great expectations which were not met. The smallest audience which I have ever witnessed at Newcastle Theatre Royal, which was even smaller after the interval.

User Review: 28May16: This has to be the worst show I have ever seen. It was so boring that many people left at the interval. We paid about £35 each and it was money wasted. We paid £10 a ticket last Friday evening to see an amateur showing of whistle down the wind in a local community centre which was so much better than this and cost us far less money!! I wish I could get a refund as I feel we wasted £70. I have never reviewed a show but felt so disappointed with this that I feel that people should be warned how bad it is. If you have booked try and get a refund before it is too late!!

User Review: 27May16: Worst show I have seen at Theatre Royal ,it was just not funny. My daughter and I sat it out until ten minuets into second half.We then left saying sorry for disturbing the people next to us. As I left I said I can't stand this any longer, she said I don't blame you.

User Review: 26May16: Worst show I have seen for a long time. Poor story line and lack of enthusiasm from cast. I even heard someone snoring and was tempted to follow suit. £28 ticket price for school type production not justified.

User Review: 12May16: Afraid this just translate well to stage, story line was week and was just a bit boring. I did get a massive fit of giggles over the stuffed dog but don't think that was the intention. The actress playing Gina was good in her own right

User Review: 07Apr16: Very good show, I thought it had been adapted well for the stage. Unable to see the video from the circle seats which was disappointing. Only 2 of the actors had actually been in the TV programme but the others were excellent and portrayed the characters very well.
