The Collector of Tears archiveCollector of Tears is an epic, poetic and award-winning love story told across four centuries by Sunderland born Tanya Sealt, a woman who cannot age until she has cried. In this magical monologue with live musical accompaniment she collects tears from moments of radical English history and her own sexual history with both men and women. She learns to fight for human rights and comes to understand her own bisexuality forged across centuries. Finally on the day Margaret Thatcher resigns (22/11/1990), Tanya learns to cry (tears of joy) and age naturally and so leaves her collection of tear bottles behind.
