The story of a wife who risks everything to rescue her husband from the prison where he has unjustly been left to rot contains some of the most inspiring music in all opera. This production from The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden is conducted by the fabulous maestro Christoph von Dohnanyi and stars the dazzling Czech diva Gabriela Benackova.
