Sings Brexit - T0417872719

London cabaret star, Jonny Woo teams up with composer Richard Thomas (Jerry Springer The Opera) to bring you a musical interpretation of the events that led up to the most controversial and talked about political event of this century. The advent of a referendum on Britain's relationship with Europe ignited passions in a blaze of slogans and fuzzy rhetoric, it was all anyone could talk about, and then it all became reduced to just one word 'Brexit'. Jonny interviewed his mates, 'Remainers' and his own family 'Brexiteers' to find out what made a polarized Britain tick and how 'The Gods Of Misrule' i.e. Cameron, Johnson, Farage and Merkel, careered the nation into uncertainty. Woo and Thomas find parallels with the great musicals in this story of conflict and passions and have made their own musical retelling of what was an immediately historic moment. Honest, funny, provocative and somewhat moving. Jonny seeks to unearth what this moment showed us about ourselves as a society and wonders if we can find a common ground beyond the divisions.

T01378987368

Jonny Woo presents a kaleidoscopic trip into the soul of a ‘tranny superstar' (Time Out) with songs and stories from before and after his near death experience, when his body shut down after almost two decades of partying. This collection of live numbers chronicles the rise, the fall, and the reflection on, Jonny's ego in his own `deeply silly style' (The Times). Big 'looks' and indulgent nonsense give way to more sinister tales in an evening that is as hilarious and joyous as it is private and humble.
