A 100th Birthday Tribute

Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the opening of Broadway musical 'Gypsy' Joyous Pie Productions is proud to present a repeat engagement of last year's sell-out sucess 'Merman at the Jermyn' as heard on BBC Radio 4 at the Jermyn Street Theatre. The show recreates the cabaret set of Ethel Merman and is perhaps best described as what Jim Bailey does for Garland... only for Ethel Merman. The show features some of Merman's greatest songs from her huge Broadway successes including: There's No Business Like Showbusiness I Get a Kick Out of You Everything's Coming Up Roses Some People the show also features rarely heard songs such as 'The Money Song' from Call Me Madam and 'World Take Me Back' one of the songs which was specially added to Hello Dolly for Merman's appearance as Dolly in 1970. To book, call the box office on 020 7287 2875 "How unusual it is that a man in his 20s is carrying a torch for somebody who would be 100 years old were she alive today." - The Independent "Having now seen Dominic Mattos as Ethel Merman, I now finally understand the attraction of seeing a ‘tribute artist’... This is no Tiny Tim soundalike voice but the real Merman ‘bash’ that hits you over the head..." - Michael Darvell, Classical Source "Mattos' incredible voice, captures the Merman bluster admirably. This is a charming evening. Bold and brash like Merman herself, but also strangely touching, this is an unusual treat not only for Merman fans but also for normal people too." - Spoonfed.co.uk, Arts and Events Guide AS HEARD ON BBC RADIO 4's Midweek and Pick of the Week. www.joyouspieproductions.co.uk
