Handspun and Namesake Double Bill - T0278043221Aerialist Ilona J?ntti presents a circus double-bill following a residency of research and development at Jacksons Lane. Handspun is a duet of aerial dance and live cello. Using just a rope, choreographed performance and music, a gentle, dreamlike piece is punctuated with the risk and danger of aerial circus. Inspired by Lilian Leitzel, the greatest aerialist of all time and performer Ilona J?ntti's own great grandmother, Namesake is about strength, beauty and endurance. Ilona doesn't come from a circus family, or even from a family of artists. Through this piece she honours her own family and her personal history with circus.

Aerial Triple Bill: Muualla Elsewhere/Footnotes/Huhu - T0611913622Muualla/ Elsewhere - Muualla/Elsewhere explores the possibilities of combining animation, circus and dance in a live performance context. The interaction between the animation and the performer enables a dialogue between the real and virtual worlds; animated environment and emerging creatures are affected by the performer and vice versa. The imagery of the piece is constantly changing and nothing is what it seems to be. Footnotes - Footnotes was created during MA Choreography studies at the Laban Centre, takes inspiration from traditional circus. Huhu - The fundamental notion of Huhu is the investigation of how space is perceived. Architectural ideas have been examined in unconventional ways through aerial work and animation as scale, perspective and gravity do not apply to the performer or her environment.
