Dear Thief have come a long way from their debut album Under Archway from 2011. Performing a new collection of songs, the band explores the heavier side of their sound. From the fatigued insomnia of Hotel through to the haunting resignation of Ground Pull, they maintain momentum with heavy, melodic riffs and rhythmical directness, drawing comparisons to bands such as Shellac and The Jesus Lizard. Weaving heavy, churning grooves with intimate moments, they conjure a hypnotic swirl of syncopated patterns with B'layachi's storytelling setting the pace.
