Midday Surgery - T1472636684Under conditions set by the British Medical Council, the ordinarily mild-mannered Doctor Deepak, a model practitioner whose work to cure people of their ailments with patient care at the heart of his purpose, is only permitted to practice medicine on the strict instruction that he is not to don his white medical coat, as his particularly unusual allergic reaction to it is considered a risk to patient healthcare, for it triggers his multiple personality disorder. When the white coat goes on, his personality switches to Doctor Deepak ‘The Real One’ - an arrogant, greed-driven lust machine with a minor ‘God’ complex. Born of an overbearing ‘Medical Mother’ - a term derived from ‘Stage Mother’ - who named him ‘Doctor’ in anticipation of his future profession, Doctor Deepak was fully acquainted with human anatomy, biochemistry and complex surgical procedures by the time he came to full term in his mother’s womb. During his Midnight surgery, a further personality is discovered whenever Doctor Deepak hears the national anthem, a tune that sets in motion the transition to BILLY BANGRA – your garden variety East-End ‘British Bangladeshi Cockney’ (BBC), a man who has no time for political correctness and is quite keen to let people know what he really thinks about immigration, multicultural London and the benefits of his wife wearing the full hijab, including being able to boast of her ‘beauty’ to his friends without them ever discovering the truth - not for the faint hearted. | |
