Tim Vine

There are more punchlines in a Tim Vine show than any other you'll have seen. Fact. It's wonderfully silly and inane - but incredibly funny.

Plastic Elvis

Feel the electricity as Plastic Elvis hits the stage backed by his incredible five piece The High Noon Band. He'll shake, he'll smoulder, he'll try and control his hair and in the end he'll break your heart. Sing along with some of the King's greatest songs, on a breathless night of rock 'n'roll

Reviews

Overall: 1.86
Josh Moir (22Mar22): Absolutely terrible. I'm 53 years old and I can honestly say that this is the worst thing that I have ever attended. My child's primary school plays were more entertaining. Who were the warm up acts and why did they look like they'd literally walked in off the street? It was truly embarrassing and I had to walk out before the interval which I've never done in my life. £60 wasted and no chance of a refund. WARNING ⚠️ DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOW 1
Chris (11Mar22): Saw this show at the hawth in crawley. I cannot believe some of the other reviews, it was never meant to be a stand up comedy show as it states in the brochure. It stands up well as a music gig, Tim has a great voice and the backing singer was superb. The band are absolutely top notch and the choice of songs was perfect. My family and friends all really enjoyed this show. We'll done tim, great evening. 5
Michael Cooper (07Mar22): Great band average support acts. Tim did a good if not brilliant Elvis. A good entertaining night out and value for money 4
Antony A (07Mar22): What a complete waste of £56. I should have read the small print. This was like a bad karaoke night. The support acts were just horrendous. I thnk Tim is one of the funniest comedians on TV, but what wa she thinking with this, and why didnt one of his team be honest and tell him it was crap. I have never left a show early, but walked out after about 40 minutes as was so bored (as did many other people). Feel like I was robbed of a evenings entertainment. 1
Lisa Kelsey (06Mar22): Gutted I had to give this 1 star, it didn’t deserve that, worst show I’ve ever seen! Not funny at all, terrible singing and so boring, I actually left before the end I couldn’t take anymore! It’s not a stand up but it did state it was a comedic tribute, nothing about this show was funny. I bought 4 tickets paid £110 and I want a refund! Absolutely appalling 1
Alison and Lorraine (06Mar22): Unfortunately I didn’t have covid so had to sit through this dire show last night. Still don’t understand what the concept of the show was? Tim is a funny guy, but not last night. Stick to the day job and singing Elvis in the shower Tim. Game I get a refund as didn’t laugh once? 1
James (06Mar22): Could not give 0 star rating. If you are thinking of buying tickets for this, don’t. If you have tickets gift them to the mother in law or a boss you don’t like. To the people who have given this more than one star… please bottle and sell what you are taking. Not entertaining. Not funny. Tim should be paying us to watch it. Also want a refund. Used his name and fan base for a self indulgent show. I won’t be buying tickets for a gig in future. 1
D and J (06Mar22): OK should have read the small print but went expecting a night of one liner hilarity and got a 3rd rate Elvis tribute act. The support acts we’re equally bad and there’s a part of me that thought that this may have been absolute ironic comedy genius putting together the worst comedy show in history but unfortunately I don’t think it was. After 30 years of me and my wife attending shows we have never walked out but couldn’t take more than half an hour of this drivel. It’s a shame as I’m a big fan of Tim and really enjoyed his previous live shows but I really think he should stick to what he is good at and what people want. 1
Donnygirl (06Mar22): Unbelievably bad. Left during interval, trying to get a refund. Someone is taking the mickey at hardworking folks expense. 1
Mark Taylor (05Mar22): We saw this show at the cliffs pavilion in February 2022. I knew it was a singing show, unlike the person who purchased us the tickets. All I have to say is that this was a complete vanity project and played upon Tim being a well known comic. The warm up acts were awful, Tim's singing was below par and his choice of music was terrible. Not one of the Elvis songs was a 'classic' or one of the top 20 Elvis songs. All in all a totally awful show and not worth the money. 1
Iain Chorlton (05Mar22): I wish I had read the small print before purchased the tickets! Come on Tim where is the cracking one liners and hilarious silliness? No idea what that show was. It was neither funny or good singing. Left early as totally disappointed. Need to do better to get us back again. 1
Godfrey Palmer (05Mar22): Me and my two son's were expecting a great show as this was a overdue Christmas present from my wife and it was postponed throughout COVID. What a letdown and as other previous reviewers have said Tim needs to stick to his day job. Elvis has left the room. Please, please, Tim, just leave the stage. Stick to comedy. 1
Paul Robinson (05Mar22): The band were really good. The only real positive. If it wasn’t Tim Vine then I would be fuming, but I really like him. I just feel confused. I gelt like I’d paid £30 each to watch him indulge himself. I was waiting for the words of some of the Elvis songs to be changed into witty puns, but sadly not. It was literally just watching Tim impersonating Elvis and getting laughs by shaking his leg. The support act, David Martin, was the highlight for me but only in a “he’s so bad he’s funny” kind of way. His famous song includes the line “I can’t laugh and I can’t sing”. He was right! 1
Mandy (03Mar22): Fantastic show, loved every minute of it, definitely worth the money. Backing singer was amazing, she had such an incredible voice. Would spend the money again to go and see them. 5 star from me 5
Keith Stevens (03Mar22): I'm a big fan of Tim but at Crawley last night couldn't believe what I was seeing. My wife bought the tickets a year ago. David Martin is obviously a nice guy, a brilliant and accomplished songwriter but frankly past it. He and Big Buddy Holly reminded me of auditions for Phoenix Nights. Tim is obviously an Elvis fan and tried hard but is was like watching somebody at a karioke night. A disappointing evening and for us, a waste of money. 1
Jerry Martin (02Mar22): I cannot believe the negative comments and low star ratings? I was under no illusion that this was not Tim as a stand up but a tribute to Elvis, but having said that his singing was combined with comedy absolutely loved the evening at the Hawth! The band and support were also great ! All in all a lovely evening well done Tim et al 5
Peter Quantick (27Feb22): I went without any preconceptions but I am still struggling to understand what I saw. Ok, it's a tribute act with Tim Vine (who has a great voice actually) and an excellent band. It all felt a but self-indulgent and I have to say, slightly disdainful of the audience (many loyal fans) when one considers the support acts he exposed us to. The Buddy Holly impersonator wouldn't have made it onto Phoenix Nights and David Martin, well, what was the point? Does he really need the money? Surely Tim Vine could have found some young talent to showcase instead of an ego trip for a man who wrote a song for Elvis once. A particularly bizarre moment in the shoew was where Plastic Elvis interviewed Martin about the time Martin pitched his song to him. It took being in character into weird territory. 1
Nicky Pearce (27Feb22): Saw Plastic Elvis at The Grand Theatre, Swansea on 26th Feb I bought the tickets for my partners birthday, and after reading some of the negative reviews, began to wish I hadn’t! But, oh my goodness, what a show! Time Vine was brilliant, his timing was faultless, and one liners as funny as ever. And what a voice! The High Noon band were equally as good. We would thoroughly recommend this show for a great fun night out! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5
Liz (26Feb22): Omg! This has got to be one of the worst waste of money shows weve ever seen .....Dont go! We walked out , along with many others after just 19 mins .....sooo upset 1
Disappointed (10Feb22): We are a fan of Tim Vine and eventuate of the live shows enormously but unfortunately not this one. We were under the misapprehension that we were going to have a night of comedy but we were subjected to a night of very average / substandard, outdated singing. The support acts were particularly past their sell by dates. Get a refund if you can. Mr Vine do your comedy because that’s fab. 1
Graham Bridgeman-Clarke (10Feb22): Lasted all of ten minutes. The supports were weak and Dave Martin was there just to promote his songs of 40-50 years ago and boast his ego. Tim Vine as plastic Elvia was a poor karioke act and ok I thought this would be a show of jokes but I was the joke in attending my and my wife’s first trip since Covid started two years ago. 1
The man from Brentwood (10Feb22): His brother is funnier. Elvis doing Tim Vine jokes may have been a better option 1
Ben (09Feb22): We should have read the small print. This is not a stand up comedy act. Warm up acts were dreadful. We stayed for 15 mins at the start of the second half in the hope that It would improve. It didn’t. We left, as did many others. Admittedly, it is our fault, we should have read the small print. 1
Annamaria (06Feb22): This is the worst show I have ever seen, my 3 friends too. OMG I wish we had left after the warm up acts which were abysmal to say the least - what is Tim Vine thinking of giving them the job - maybe just to make himself look better?. To quote one of Tim’s jokes - Velcro?what a rip off! Tim, stick to your day job. I’m not altogether sure if he’s on some sort of ego trip at our expense. It was appalling, please do not waste your time and money. Wish I could give a minus score review. Could go on forever at how shockingly bad it was. 1
Rory Mallinson (06Feb22): Not what we expected to be seeing, we thought Plastic Elvis was just the name of the tour, not him pretending to be the king for an hour with two dreadful opening acts that he dragged out of the nearest karaoke bar. The band were top notch and Tim definitely saved it by having fun with it but we've learned our lesson to do more homework before booking, a real disappointment 2
Tom, Blackpool Grand Theatre feb 22 (06Feb22): Loved the Grand Theatre, fantastic. Love Tim Vine, but unfortunately the Plastic Elvis tour was pathetic, the highlight of the show was watching a songwriter cough and splutter through a range of songs. We could have saved ourselves £60 and had a better time in a karaoke bar. DONT bother going. 1
Chris (06Feb22): Went to see the Plastic Elvis tour in Blackpool. This is not a Tim Vine comedy tour, it’s his love of Elvis’s music. I thought it was brilliant. Whilst there were no jokes Tim’s humour was ever-present. We sang along and laughed all the way through. Great. 5
JB (05Feb22): Just got back from seeing Tim Vine’s Plastic Elvis. Loved it. Not a great Elvis fan myself but thoroughly enjoyed the performance and Tim’s love of Elvis shone through. The warm up acts were just about OK but Tim and the band more than made up for them! This is not a stand up comedy show so go with an open mind and you might just enjoy it! 5
Roland Butter (18Dec21): Initially we thought the warm up performers were parodies, albeit poor ones. Then the penny dropped. Still, we persevered & decided to see if Tim could rescue the initial car crash. Big mistake, he actually put his foot on the accelerator. Gave him 20 mins then snuck off. Still can’t believe how bad it was. Such a shame, been looking forward to it since June 2020. He’s fine himself no favours with this one. He would have failed a Stars In Their Eyes audition. 1
MattK (18Dec21): We got as far as Apollo Bar, started reading reviews and that this was not a comedy show but a Elvis tribute show.. drank out drinks and left, didn’t even sit down.. 1
Janet S (18Dec21): We loved the show, having previously seen You Tube videos, knew what to expect. He is an Elvis fan and this was his tribute. Good time. 4
Jack D (17Dec21): Real disappointment. Not a Tim Vine show! 1
Courtney (17Dec21): Well… where do I start? Is it possible to leave a 0* review? The only comedy was the hilarity of the support acts and buddy holly’s wig. I have never ran to an exit sign so quickly in my life. I will never get that half an hour of my life back. So utterly appalling I’d rather catch covid than suffer another minute. 1
Unknown (29Oct21):

Shit show not gunna lie. Since when does a elvis impersonator be worse than that. Waste of 25 cucking quid

1
Lucy B (29Oct21): Absolutely awful. I have seen better acts at a working men’s club for free and they were bad! Sadly an ego trip for Tim Vine who is obviously an Elvis fan but really should not be stealing our money by putting on such a god awful show. So many people walked out half way through. I would prefer to have been sat on my sofa watching tv. Excruciatingly bad! 1
G.Adams (19Oct21): Very poor warm up Act, Tim not what expected no one liners. Many of the Audience openly left during the Show. 2
Martin (19Oct21): In my opinion truely awful. Not even funny. Support acts were poor pub acts at best. Tim was even worse. He wasn't even a good Elvis impersonator. Smacks of a self indulgent ego trip for him. Stick to your brilliant comedy. People were walking out, as did we! Very sad. 1
Melvyn (19Oct21): Terrible. Expected usual one=liners but instead got a very poor Elvis tribute act 1
unknown (19Oct21):

.People throwing themselves off the balcony. Even Shane Richie wa ...

2
Stephen Hill (19Oct21): Dissopointed expect Tim Vine got poor Elvis should have reaad small print tickets booked 2 years ago Tim owes us a Tour as Tim Vine not plastic but gold 3
John sibo (19Oct21): Saw the Tim Vine plastic Elvis at the Alexandra in Birmingham very poor left before the end still trying to workout what I saw!! 1
Unknown (18Oct21):

.The band were great, backing singer incredible. The rest was awful
