The innovative and witty tribute to pianists and music will receive its UK premiere in London after a sell-out success in South Africa, and will play for ten performances only. This is a charity performance to save the life of the son of actor Ian von Memerty (director and writer of Umoja and creator and one of the stars of A Handful of Keys. Funds are needed for six-and-a-half-year-old Oscar who was born with a genetic metabolic illness which causes all the soft tissues to swell, causing massive deformity, increasing paralysis and loss of motor functions. His sister has died from this rare disease. A team from Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital are willing to perform a transplant on Oscar, as they have located a well-matched donor. However, they require an up-front payment of £120,000. Hence, the urgent need for this benefit concert. | |
