Art and music come together in a programme inspired by the painting Lake Keitele by Akseli Gallen-Kallela in the National Gallery. Mozart s delicate Serenata Notturna and Tchaikovsky s luscious Serenade frame the equally glorious Rakastava and The Countess s Portrait by Sibelius, Rautavaara s exquisite Canto III - Portrait of the Artist at a Certain Moment and a new Nocturne by Alec Roth created in response to the painting. An opportunity to view Lake Keitele and hear talks from Alec Roth and a curator on the evening s artwork and music complete the theme.
