The rhythms and sounds of Africa. In collaboration with the African Centre in Covent Garden, some of the world's top African musicians have been working with Queen Elizabeth's Girls' and Whitefield Schools, to develop new work using traditional African instruments. The project entitled Akwaaba, which means welcome in Twi (Ghanaian language) is a music outreach project which has been funded by the London Borough Grants and Barnet Council .
