Production details

The Romanian soprano Angela Gheorghiu made her Royal Opera debut as Zerlina in Don Giovanni in 1992, coming to prominence in 1994 when she sang her first Violetta in La traviata at Covent Garden, an interpretation considered definitive by some. She is now regarded as one of the most exciting and charismatic of the new generation of singers.
