We welcome back the ever popular Art Themen for a Christmas special concert with rhythm section ’3bpm’. Art has been wowing audiences and exciting jazz lovers for over 40 years and he hasn’t lost his appetite for the lateral – in fact his playing seems increasingly energetic and forward thinking. Originally a fan and exponent of the schools of Dexter Gordan and Sonny Rollins, Art has proved he also has what it takes to combine his ’classic’ style with more modern styles, often echoing the ambience of modernists such as Evan Parker, Coleman Hawkins and the great John Coltrane.
