Sounds from a Room
Baaba Maal, one of West Africa's and Senegal's best known and most exciting musicians, is the seventh guest in the year-long series Sounds From A Room. Known as much for his human rights activism as his music, Baaba Maal believes in the power of music for social change. He is joined by two musicians for an acoustic set, and you can watch a live relay of their performance on a big screen in The Clore Ballroom. His performance takes place during Africa Utopia, a month-long festival of music, theatre, film, literature, dance, fashion, talks and debates programmed by Southbank Centre in conjunction with Baaba Maal, as part of Southbank Centre's Festival of the World with MasterCard.
