Bembeya Jazz
T0
Infectious Afropop from Guinea's former National Orchestra. Dating back to the 1960s, this West African group are often compared to Senegal's Orchestra Baobab, who formed in the 1970s. The magical genius of guitarist Sekou 'Diamond Fingers' Diabate and his fellow Bembeyans provided inspiration to the likes of Bob Marley and Fela Kuti. They are renowned for their driving rhythm section and punching horns, seductively harmonized with four guitars and three soulful vocalists.
