Romeo and Juliet (excerpts)

After a sell-out performance at Reverb 2010, the Night Shift returns to the Roundhouse to open this year's festival with one of their most ambitious projects to date. The 90 piece Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, conducted by one of the legends of the classical music world, Sir Mark Elder, will recreate the raw and revolutionary sounds of 19th century Paris in Berlioz's Romeo and Juliet. All in the radical and contemporary atmosphere of the Night Shift - classical music: minus the rules. The evening begins and ends with live sets by the Roundhouse Music Collective, bringing their unique blend of alternative classical, jazz and electronica to the Night Shift, plus DJ's throughout the Roundhouse foyers. And in the lead up to their Roundhouse performance, players from the Orchestra will be touring pubs in north, south, east and west London, taking their unique Night Shift atmosphere right across the capital Reverb Festival
