Kiri Te Kanawa's recital celebrates the New Zealand soprano's 30-year association with Covent Garden, which began in 1971 when her debut, as the Countess in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, caused a sensation and rapidly launched her into international stardom. A major recording artist and a familiar figure in opera houses and concert halls worldwide, she remains one of the leading sopranos of her generation, a much loved singer who has succeeded in transcending the perceived boundaries between classical and popular music.
