As part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations the Youth Orchestra and Schools Choir are set to come together and mark some iconic moments of the Queen's reign. Under the guidance of their conductor, Robert Mitchell, the orchestra will perform Walton's coronation march, Crown Imperial, Handel's coronation anthem, Zadok the Priest, and, to mark the Olympics, they will perform the theme from 1981 film, Chariots of Fire. The orchestra, which is made up of the area's most talented young musicians, will also perform Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance Marches, 1 and 4 before rounding off the evening with a moving rendition of Parry's Jerusalem.
