In April, singing-songwriter ed Sheeran appeared on Later...with Jools Hollland performing his song The A Team, subsequently released as a digital download the song entered the chart at number 3 selling over 58,000 copies in the first week. It was followed by his debut album, + which stormed to the top of the charts in September.
