Foaie verde (Green Leaf) is the title of Opera North's latest chamber music event, exploring traditional Transylvanian music from Romania. Inspired by the Opera North production of Duke Bluebeard's Castle and curated by the violinist Joe Townsend, the project brings together guest musicians and members of the Orchestra of Opera North. For this special project Opera North Projects has commissioned the photographer Dominick Tyler to travel to Romanian villages with Joe to document the real lives of Transylvanian communities, and these photographs and recordings will be included in the live performances.
