T0 Gamelan (from egamali, meaning hammer) is a truly distinctive experience: an orchestra of percussion instruments that creates a richly textured and hypnotic rhythm. Javanese traditional music is highly spiritual and the gamelan itself has mystic religious qualities. Gamelan Sumekar comes from the Central Java area around the ancient city of Jogja.
