Overall:
1.00USER (04Jun06): I saw Geno in 1968. Time has ben less than kind. Gone is the fancy footwork and non-stop action. Too much time spent with repetitive phrases, which become annoying, as does his homespun philosophy. He should have stuck to what he is famous for, but sang, a couple of awful James Brown songs and an excruciating "I put a spell on you". The band were mixed - shimmering "Shaft" type guitar work went out in the seventies. Whatever happened to Pete Gage. The tenor and baritone sax players kept the thing afloat. I left after an hour - it seemed longer. I should have left him in my memory where he was probably better than he actually was. I was a fan in 1966 - 1969, but no more. 1
