Doyo are traditional Japanese children's songs many of whose lyrics were written by outstanding poets of the Meiji Era (1867-1914) with music composed by equally gifted composers. The poems depict the beauty of nature and the seasons, and love of people, animals, birds and plants from a child's perspective.
