Born Kathryn Dawn Lang in a small town in Western Canada, K D Lang began playing guitar at the tender age of 10. By 13 she was writing and performing her own material. By the early 1980s she had formed her first band, The Reclines, and released a single album. K D went on to develop her solo career, and has become one of Canada's most successful female recording artists.
