Proms evening with an opera-themed first half. Suppe Overture Light Cavalry, arias from Carmen and Madam Butterfly, Borodin Polovtsian Dances. Then follows the familiar much-loved element: Wood's Fantasia on British Sea Songs, Rule Britannia, Jerusalem and a triumphant finale of Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance March No 1 Land of Hope and Glory with stunning fireworks.
