A sparkling combination of mellow fiddle intertwined with a sumptuous harmonic backdrop. Achingly beautiful, this is music evocative of the landscape it was inspired by. Lauren MacColl is a former BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award winner and with two critically acclaimed albums under her belt, she is establishing herself as one of the leading fiddle players of her generation. Her passion makes her an engaging and inspirational performer. Joining Lauren is guitarist Barry Reid, with whom she has developed a sympathetic musical partnership; pianist Mhairi Hall, who unleashes a new voice for the piano in traditional music with spritely playing; and one of the UK s leading piano accordion players, Shona Kipling, whose playing holds rich depth as her punchy bass enriches the sound.
