Production details

Once finalist in BBC's Young Musician of the Year in 1992, cellist Thomas Carroll performs Haydn's Cello Concerto in C, which is the most famous out of the two concertos he wrote for this instrument. Tonight it is preceded by Beethoven's Egmont Overture. After the interval the LMP plays Beethoven's epic Eroica Symphony, one of the greatest works in the symphonic repertoire, concludes a concert of dramatic and uplifting music.
