User Review: 15Sep04: We got there late & then dragged ourselves away from the over-crowded bar for Minnie Driver's set onwards. She's got a nice voice but the songs were a bit dull. The Thrills were the highlight of the evening & gave the crowd exactly what they wanted. Ricky Gervais' irreverence was spot-on & then, a little late, came REM - certainly the reason I'd bought my ticket. Disappointing, tho. 'Losing my religion' & 'Man on the Moon' were great but the rest of the set was lacklustre in comparison - new songs & album fillers. With a 45min set, they could have blown the audience away with a condensed greatest hits package. And they should have chosen 'It's the end of the world as we know it' over 'Bad day' as the finale - they're virtually the same but the earlier song's better. Oh well, it's all for a good cause so who's gonna complain, eh?
