T756313961Mark Radcliffe is probably the best-loved radio DJ in the UK (well, alright, we might be a bit biased, but even so ... he still probably is!) and as well as being an Award winning radio presenter, currently on BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 2, he also hosts the BBC TV coverage of Glastonbury Festival and Sky Arts TV highlights of the Cambridge Folk Festival. He has toured the country with his bands The Family Mahone and The Shirehorese and has written a number of laugh out loud funny books about his musical life so far. In 2011 he recorded his first solo album, 'What Remains Of The Day' and published yet another book, titled 'Reeling in the Years', detailing the soundtrack to his half century on God's good earth. The biopic must surely now be an inevitability. He now leaves the comfort of his BBC studio to do some solo shows (with his multi-instrumentalist fellow Mahone, Chris Lee), hear songs, jokes, anecdotes and stories from his glittering career .

Mark Radcliffe's Galleon Blast - T01797357604Press ganged into service by an unscrupulous gangmaster from the Spanish Main (well....Knutsford actually), the swarthy seadogs of Galleon Blast occasionally get shore leave to ply their raggle-taggle trade. With a selection of rum-soaked songs and shanties, the Blasters whip up a squally strumming storm with traditional tunes, original songs and many a seafaring classic from The Dubliners, The Waterboys, The Pogues, The Fisherman's Friends and Ewan MacColl. Galleon Blast feature banjos, whistles, accordions and fiddles from members of The Family Mahone, Full House, The Bad Shepherds, The Incredible String Band and Thea Gilmore, including the Pirate DJ himself Mark Radcliffe - the Jack Sparrow of the Radio 2 Folk Show.

and the Foes with support from Bella Gaffney - T975459608With a selection of songs to burn coffins to, these misanthropic minstrels; these downbeat Dee bank dirgesmiths; these glum-pop pall-bearers of bar-room pathos bring tales of loss, regret, ruin, heartbreak and dead dogs. and the Big Figures - T2026989317A proper R&B band in the classic Dr Feelgood mould, The Big Figures features Radio 2 DJ Mark Radcliffe and his best mate of over thirty years P J Walmsley. The illustrious line-up is completed by three more hunks of burning Lancastrian love: 'Go-go' Johnny Jobson (harmonica), Cameron Sweetnam (bass) and Andy Hyams (drums). Feelgood afficionados will know that The Big Figures was the drummer in the original group and that explains the name of this band, rather than any reference to the middle aged spread experienced by certain members. The Big Figures are also delighted to be sharing the stage with lap steel, one man blues band Tom Doughty. A pie eating and dog walking companion of Mark's, Tom creates a unique sound and atmosphere with his orginal songwriting and range of vintage instruments.Performer Tom Doughty.
