My Journey

The vibrant performance from Marva, led by Manveer Singh (tabla), is inspired by Manveer's own experience of visual impairment and, in particular, the walk he has made many times over the last few years from Birmingham New Street station to the Conservatoire in Paradise Place. Using traditional Indian ragas and time cycles incorporating subtle elements of jazz with, highly intricate rhythmic writing alongside explosive improvisations, My Journey features especially created video projections, soundscapes and lighting design. Marva is commissioned by Collide, Birmingham City council, Arts Council England, sampad and Birmingham Jazz Theatre
