Production details
Matthew Herbert is a producer who records great ideas and then translates them into spectacular live events. His Big Band follows its Jazz Britannia TV special and a headline slot at The Big Chill with a live show inspired by his new album There's Me and There's You. It uses technology brilliantly alongside a thrilling Big Band, which features singer Eska Mtungwazi as what Herbert describes as 'a vital part, the beating heart' of this special show. Jose James flies in with his band to play the first half of this concert. His astonishingly mature debut album The Dreamer on Gilles Peterson's Brownswood label inspired comparisions with Gil Scott-Heron and Andy Bey, but live he's his own man - a stylish, sensual singer with a contemporary take on jazz vocals.
