Odemba OK Jazz All Stars

In the early 1960s rumba was the dominant force in African music, and leading the charge was seminal big-band Franco's OK Jazz. Since then, few groups have even come close to those heady heights. Now, led by Franco's original guitarist Dizzy Mandjeku, Odemba OK Jazz All Stars return to Brighton to do just that. Joining Dizzy in a stellar 12-piece line-up are former OK Jazz singers Malage de Lugendo, Nana and Baniel, Dele Pedro and veteran Seigneur Lokombe. With driving bass lines, a razor sharp horn section, and mellifluous African melodies, this custom-made supergroup spells a majestic rumba renaissance, true to Franco's original OK Jazz blueprint.
