Scottish Chamber Orchestra - T01527677719Celebrating his 85th birthday this year, Sir Charles Mackerras presides over a late-night pairing of two composers who conjured luscious sounds for wind ensembles, and (as one of the leading interpreters of Czech music) teases out a Dvorak thread following the symphony of this evening's earlier Prom. Sir Charles brings members of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra - of which is now Conductor Laureate, having served as Principal Guest Conductor from 1992 to 1995.
