Pirates of the Baroque
Taking their name from the composer Antonio Vivaldi, Red Priest have become internationally renowned during the past ten years. Surely the combination of recorder, violin and cello and harpsichord has never created so many exciting performances. Their programme includes Vivaldi’s Tempesta di Mare Concerto, a Pirate Suite by Couperin, the ‘Albinoni’ Adagio and works by Bach, Tartini and Handel, all performed with swashbuckling virtuosity.
