Production details

The concert will feature a set by both The Foundations, fronted by original lead guitarist and vocalist Alan Warner, and The New Honeycombs. The Foundations joined the pop-soul scene in 1967 and are internationally known for classics such as Baby Now That I Have Found You, Build Me Up Buttercup, In The Bad Bad Old Days and Back On My Feet Again. Alan Warner was also a member of both Pluto and The Polecats and has recently performed with fellow 60s artists Zoot Money and Jet Harris. He will be joined on stage by The Foundations' current lead vocalist Hue Montgomery alongside fellow band-members John Dee, Dave Lennox and Pete Stroud. The New Honeycombs formed over ten years ago and were part of Martin Murray's Honeycombs before forming their own band and joining Rock Around the Sixties to pay tribute to The Honeycombs' original hits. Together they use four-part harmonies to recreate hits including Have I the Right, That's the Way and Is it Because. The New Honeycombs' drummer Paul Bonner was formerly with 60s and 70s group Katch 22 and has worked with sixties legend Wayne Fontana. He is joined by lead vocalist Angela Rose from 70s group Butterscotch, lead guitarist and vocalist John Butcher who was previously with The Fourmost, The Raiders and Twinkle plus bassist Jeff Malin who has performed alongside The Rolling Stones, Dusty Springfield and Lulu. Rock Around the Sixties includes the most successful tracks by both bands as well as a selection of greatest hits by The Shirelles, Dusty Springfield and The Crystals plus a Motown medley.
