Sergio Tiempo, the Venezuelan-born Argentinian virtuoso, is a protege of Martha Argerich. He made his first TV appearance at the age of four and has since won acclaim for his personal and often unconventional interpretations. The programme, which brings together some of the piano repertoire’s representations of the ‘fantastical’, includes Beethoven’s popular Moonlight Sonata and culminates in some of Liszt’s most poetic and fiery compositions.
