Song of the Building

An inspiring wave of joyous voices will soar through the building bringing its very soul to life. The community participants will ignite the beating heart of the venue as they celebrate its centenary with a crescendo of music and song. The project will include participants from schools, students, instrumentalists and singers who will combine through a series of workshops and open rehearsals both in the creation and performance of Song of the Building. Although a new work, this tapestry of voice and music will reflect the rich history of this landmark building, its location, and its people. We are also extremely excited to announce that the project has just won the prestigious David Bedford Music Education Award (www.prsformusicfoundation.com for further information) Song of the Building is part of the Park & Dare 2013 Centenary celebrations and is a co-production by RCT Theatres and RCT Music Service, who gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the PRS for Music Foundation and the Arts Council of Wales.
