Songs of the South

Songs of the SouthT1918110006
Last season The Big Brecht Fest was accompanied by a thrilling, sold-out concert of Kurt Weill songs sung by members of the ENO Young Singers program. Now, to complement The Member of The Wedding set in Georgia and The Brothers Size set in Louisiana, the ENO Young Singers present a concert of songs by the great American composer Samuel Barber. This concert will include many of Barber's songs, highlights being Knoxville, a dreamlike depiction of an evening in the American South based on a short story by James Agee scored for solo soprano, and his famous one act jazz opera, A Hand of Bridge.
